Uzès is one of those towns naturally gifted in the arts. In all the villages of the Uzège, you will find the same love of beautiful craftsmanship. The Uzège contains two sites that have received « Archipels des Métiers d'Art » status, one in Uzès for decorated furniture and one in Saint Quentin la Poterie for ceramics.

In the past, the Uzège was known for its wrought-iron work and stone and woodcarving. Keep your eyes open as you walk around and you will see spiral staircases, wrought-iron guardrails and diamond-pointed doorways. Uzès has no less than 40 sites listed as Historical Monuments. The villages of the Uzège are not to be outdone, with a heritage to be discovered at every street-corner and in every square.

Today, many craftsmen and women excel in their various trades and the « Lycée des Métiers d'Art G. Guynemer » perpetuates and adds to this tradition.
