The Biennial of Painted Furniture

For the past six years, the Municipal Office of Culture has held a Painted Furniture Fair over the Easter weekend. This event falls within the scope of Archipel des Métiers d'Art du Languedoc-Roussillon initiatives.

The craftsmen and the fair :

The Fair took shape when a group of craftsmen from Uzès, involved in a very original and creative approach to contemporary furniture, asked the municipality to create a prime event in order to develop the creative aspect of the crafts sector.
At the same time, a group of craftsmen from the Gard, specialized in Painted Furniture, were looking to promote themselves and assemble information on the Cabinets of Uzès.

The Fair met all of these expectations and it is now established that a large part of its participants are from the geographic regions close to the Gard.

A survey of one thousand people revealed interest in these craftsmen that provide such high quality work.
