04 - The Hortus

Close to the well, grow pot herbs and condiment herbs, which have harmonized with each other for centuries. Condiments were much used in the Middle Ages: sage, rosemary, cumin, saffron, horseradish, etc. Among the food plants, certain long forgotton vegetables can be found, for example, parsnip, Alexander, skirret, good King Henry, marine cabbage.
