14 - Domestic and Utilitarian Plants

Among the plants found here, saponin (soap herb) widely used in former times by drapers and cardère à foulon, used to card wool because of its inflorescent qualities; hemp and flax used in textile making; and pastel, madder and yellow weld for dying (the latter three were generally cultivated on a large scale in fields).
