Montaren et Saint-Médiers |
|
3 km away from Uzès, on the road to Alès, you'll find the village of Montaren, which expanded with the Ducal City to attain its current status as the third largest village of the township. Montaren is well-known for its beauty, the number and originality of its municipal wells which are scattered all over the village. Planted right in the middle of the village, the château and Saracen Tower are not open to the public.
Saint-Médiers (former priory), magnificent hamlet locked on to the side of the hill, benefits from exceptional sunshine. It spreads out across the vineyards north of the village of Montaren. Numerous marked paths provide nature lovers with beautiful hikes or horseback rides (trails are marked by the National Stud Farm) in a breathtakingly beautiful environment.
